Paul Diamond (Ngāti Haua, Te Rarawa, Ngāpuhi) was born in Putaruru and grew up in the Hutt Valley, where he now lives with his partner Bob Williams. Paul is a writer, journalist, historian and broadcaster passionate about Māori development. His work has been recognised with Qantas Media Awards, Media Peace Awards and a David Low Chevening Fellowship to Oxford University.
Paul was a judge for the New Zealand Post Book Awards in 2010 and 2011, and was appointed to the board of the New Zealand Book Council in 2010.
